Solidarity for an Independent and Unified Iraq (SIUI)

Another year has passed, the pain of our people has not waned, their suffering has not been alleviated, their country in ruins and the future ahead of them bears no promise.
As the Western and compliant media continues to fail in holding the perpetrators of this war of aggression to account, Iraqis feel betrayed and abandoned.
They are counting on all the peace and justice loving people to speak up for them, they are counting on us to stand by them.
Five years on, with 4.5 million Iraqis displaced, At least 60 000 detained, cities and neighbourhoods turned into open concrete walled prisons and 500% increase in air bombardment. The war on the Iraqi people has not ended.
The ‘surge’ has only served to reduce American casualties, through creating even more divisions and strife! The claim that the occupation forces are standing between calamity and the Iraqi people is false. The occupiers’ continuous presence is the real calamity.
Now, the US is also attempting to tie Iraq with long term security agreements that guarantee the US’s long term military presence in order to guarantee their plans for Iraq’s resources.
All the recent polls show Iraqis want the occupation to end and are opposed to the US/UK long term presence in Iraq.
The costly, pointless and expensive British military presence in Basra has damaged the reputation of the nation, let alone cost lives on both sides.
We in SIUI, like most British people want the relationship between Iraq and the UK to be based on equality, mutual respect and mutual interests.
This cannot be achieved if the UK continues to be a passenger in the vehicle of US foreign policy on the Middle East.

شهدت مظاهرة أوقفوا الحرب يوم 15 آذارفي لندن أكبر حضور عراقي ولأول مرة سار أكثر من 25 شخص أغلبهم نساء و شباب وراء لافتة منظمة تضامن. جاء العراقيون ليعبروا عن غضبهم لما يجري في العراق وحقيقة أن من كذبوا على العالم بأسره و شنّوا حرب عدوانية تدميرية على العراق لم تطالهم يد القانون الدولي أو حتى المحاسبة السياسية التي هي يفرض أن تكون في لب أي نظام ديمقراطي.
مر عام أحتلال آخر، زاد من آلام شعبنا و معاناته مر عام أحتلال آخر و تدمير وطننا مستمر، و تحويل مدننا و حاراتنا الى سجون مستمر، مر عام أحتلال آخر و أهالينا في السجون و المعتقلات يهانون و يعذبون بينما يجوب القتلة وعملاء الموساد و المجرمون أرجاء البلاد. مر عام أحتلال آخر و أطفالنا مشردون و جياع و مرعوبون.
أن أستمرار الأحتلال هو أستمرار للكارثة التي جاءت من وراء البحار الى بلدنا لتسيطر على ثرواته و تذل أهله
نحن نساء عراقيات نعيش في بريطانيا نسعى لأن تكون علاقة بريطانيا مع العراق علاقة طرفين متساويين علاقة أحترام متبادل ومنافع مشتركة. لن يكون ذلك ممكناً أذا ما أستمرت بريطانيا في أتباع الولايات المتحدة في سياستها الخارجية تجاه الشرق الأوسط بشكل أعمى
أن بقاء الجيش البريطاني في العراق الذي بلغت كلفته لحد الآن 7 مليار جنيه أسترليني على الأقل لا يخدم أي غرض سوى تشويه سمعة بريطانيا في المنطقة بل في أرجاء العالم كله. أسحبوا الجيوش و تعاملوا مع شعوب المنطقة على أساس العدالة و الأحترام المتبادل

الطويل الأمد في العراق
ستقوم نساء تضامن بالأعتصام أمام السفارة الأمريكية في لندن مساء يوم 11 نيسان 2008 من الساعة الخامسة الى الساعة السابعة مساءاً أحتجاجاً على جرائم الحرب التي تقترف بحق العراقيين كل يوم تحت الأحتلال و الدعوة عامة للجميع
